To the editor: chicken fizz, hold the politics

I’d like to see a more domestic or family side to Home in Henderson for those of us who are not heavily into city politics, so I am submitting two easy recipes per the editor’s invitation in his column awhile back.

Chicken Fizz: Use equal parts of catsup and your favorite cola poured over chicken. Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees. It ends up with a sweet barbecue taste.

For those of us who are too lazy to clean and fuel the grill this holiday weekend, you can microwave a turkey breast. Remove the skin and rub with seasonings. Place the breast side down in a roasting bag and twist it loosely shut. Microwave on high 4 minutes per pound, then flip it over and zap for 20 more minutes.

After dinner, two good movies out at theaters are “The Lake House,” a love story which is set two years apart and will keep you busy piecing together the events and the funny, animated “Cars,” highly recommended by my niece and nephew, ages 10 and 12. They say to be sure and watch the outtakes and bloopers at the end!
