Vehicle stolen at gunpoint

On Wednesday, November 30, at 6:04 p.m., City of Henderson police officers were dispatched to the South Side Drug Store on 1005 Nicholas Street in response to a report of an armed robbery.

Upon arrival, officers spoke to the victim, Jeffery Hedgepeth. The victim advised police that he left the business through the back door to place an item in his vehicle. At that time, the victim encountered three black males standing beside the business in the dark. The suspects produced handguns and demanded money.

Unable to get money from the victim, the suspects took the victim’s vehicle and drove away. No shots were fired and no injuries were reported.

A short time later, the victim’s vehicle was located abandoned at the end of S. Williams Street. Police officers conducted a search of the surrounding area; however, the search did not yield any suspects.

The investigation is continuing by the Criminal Investigations Division.
