Dale calls for change in City Council

During the Public Comments portion of last Monday evening’s Henderson City Council meeting, the Reverend C.J. Dale told members that the Youth Protection Ordinance is “like the city is trying to incarcerate the city as a whole”.

A recording of Dale’s remarks may be heard here.

Dale told City Council members that “certain people” can say “certain things” and “you just do it”.

The controversial reverend claimed that 27 young people have been killed in Henderson in the last nine years. He went on to say that now that a few people are worried about noise, [the Council] decides to do something.

Dale commented that he was glad that election season is near. He said that if we’re going to go forward that it is going to take unity. He went on to say that if we are going to make things better, we have to come together.

The reverend suggested that the City build a youth center, “not a Boys and Girls Club, but a real youth center”.

Dale ended his comments by saying that the only time he sees some of the members of the Council is during election time.

“It’s time for a change on this board,” Dale said before leaving the podium.
