Counterfeiting operation busted

Henderson Police Chief K.L. Sidwell reported Friday that members of his department’s Narcotics Unit and Criminal Investigations Division, along with assistance from the US Secret Service executed a search warrant on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at the residence of 231 Southside Estates, Henderson, NC 27537.

This search warrant was executed after an extensive investigation involving the production of counterfeit currency in the Henderson/Vance County area.

Seized during the execution of the search warrant were computers, printers, paper cutters, counterfeit currency, marijuana, and a firearm.

The investigation tends to show that the suspect listed below was involved in the production and distribution of several thousand dollars of counterfeit currency.

Charges: Possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of counterfeit currency, possession with the intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver marijuana

The investigation is continuing and more arrests are pending.
