HPD urges shooting witnesses to come forward


On June 14, 2009 a shooting incident occurred at America’s Best Value Inn located at 200 Parham Road in Henderson.

Officers arrived on scene to find David Hicks, 22, of Dick Faines Road in Henderson suffering from a gunshot wound.

Hicks was transported to the Maria Parham Medical Center and then transferred to Duke Medical Center, where he died a short time later. Two other individuals were also shot during this incident. Their names are being withheld at this time pending further investigation.

The investigation is continuing by members of the Henderson Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division. Detectives have received numerous leads and are actively searching for witnesses to the shooting.

During the process of the investigation, detectives have determined that there are at least 50-60 witnesses that still need to be identified and contacted.
