Narcotics arrests net methadone, handgun


Chief K. L. Sidwell reports that members of the Henderson Police Department Narcotics Unit performed a vehicle stop at the 900 block of South Carolina Avenue.

A vehicle search was performed. The search resulted in the seizure of methadone pills and a .40 caliber handgun. The driver, James Dixon was arrested for possession of the pills.

After an investigation by the Narcotics Unit based on complaints from concerned citizens, a second arrest was made. The suspect of the second arrest, Thomas Weaver, was charged with the sale of illegal prescription medication.

The investigation is continuing and more arrests are pending.
