Vance County Schools again this summer will be operating its Summer Enrichment Camp, June 20 – August 5, at Dabney Elementary School.
Children ages 5 to 12 may enroll in the camp for child care services as well as experiencing age appropriate enriching learning opportunities and physical activities.
Under the direction of an experienced adult staff, children will be able to enjoy arts and crafts, special speakers and presentations, activities through educational software and Internet resources in the school’s computer lab, structured physical exercises, swimming at the Aycock Recreation Complex pool, trips to H. Leslie Perry Memorial Library, weekly field trips and more.
The program will be open each week Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
Enrollment fees are $100 per child per week and there is a $25 registration fee. The Summer Enrichment Camp does accept Child Care Vouchers from the Department of Social Services for the payment of fees for qualifying children.
To register children for the program, parents may visit the Vance County Schools’ Administrative Services Center at 1724 Graham Avenue in Henderson, Mondays through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, interested persons may contact Mollie Scerbo, after school program coordinator for Vance County Schools, at 492-2127, extension 2101.
