VGCC Criminal Justice students help make Easter special for area kids

cjeastereggs2013Criminal Justice Technology students at Vance-Granville Community College recently conducted a community service project that brightened the Easter holiday for local children. Members of the Criminal Justice Club, supported by other students, donated their time, candy and Easter “grass” to help prepare Easter egg hunts for children at the Masonic Home for Children in Oxford, the Central Children’s Home in Oxford, and the child day care centers at both VGCC’s Main Campus and Franklin County Campus. Pictured above, clockwise from left, are students Brandi Riggsbee of Henderson, Wyatt Senter of Franklinton, Randy Parrot of Oxford, Alan Daniel of Oxford and Vicky Philip of Cary sorting supplies for the little “egg hunters.” The Easter Egg hunt initiative is one of several service projects that the club completes each year. This project was organized by Capt. Tony Clark, an instructor and one of the Criminal Justice Club’s advisors.
