The Census Bureau has been producing estimates of health insurance coverage at the county level since 2005. These are broken out by sex, age, income, race and Hispanic origin. Known as the Small Area Health Insurance Estimates, these statistics tell us how health insurance coverage varies by county across the country. The information allows providers in the health care field to target outreach activities to increase access to health care services nationwide. The program is partially funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, in support of its national breast and cervical cancer early detection program. The data collected are used to (more effectively) target where early detection services are most needed and how best to allocate limited resources. Profile America is in its 17th year as a public service of the U.S. Census Bureau.

All I know for sure on the county based health coverage is that my Medicare Supplement Blue Cross Blue Shield premium increased nearly 30% this month!
Prudence, did Blue X give you a kiss with the screwing or just the screwing? I had no idea you were old enough for medicare. If I were to have ventured a guess as to your age based on your writings I wouldn’t have.
Not sure how to take that–but–alas–I am that old!
Prudence, what I wrote was intended as a humorous complement. Until you reveled that you are over 30, I had thought you were just like the rest of us. Now I must be careful. You remember Jack Weinberg’s warning ‘don’t trust anybody over 30’. Another attempt at humor.
Thanks for the warning that Blue X’s needs more money for less.
Don’t be careful OILF–continue with the humor–we need more of it in this world.
