On Thursday, January 14, 2016, members of the Henderson Police Department Special Operations Unit and the North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement Agency executed a search warrant at 1442 Perry Avenue. Officers recovered heroin, methamphetamine, marijuana and cocaine during the search.

Daronte Hawley, 27, 1442 Perry Avenue, Henderson was charged with one count of possession with the intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver marijuana, manufacturing marijuana, possession with the intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver methamphetamine, manufacturing methamphetamine, maintaining a dwelling for keeping a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was placed in the Vance County Jail after failing to post a 55,000.00 secured bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled in Vance County District Court on February 8, 2016.
Monte Baskerville
, 29, 225 Springhill Lane, Henderson was charged with possession with the intent to manufacture, sell, and or deliver heroin, one count of possession with the intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver cocaine, one count of manufacturing heroin, and one count of manufacturing cocaine. He was placed in the Vance County Jail after failing to post a 120,000.00 secured bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled in Vance County District Court on February 8, 2016.
Good Job HPD…..but they already have 5-10 others lined up to take their place. Interesting that this morning I had 2 accompany a neighbor of mine whose home had been broken into & nearly $10k worth of appliances & electronics were stolen. The defendant had a Court Appointed Atty. who advised the Judge he had spent 6 hours on this case. The mind boggling judgement of being only put on Probation for 12 months is a travesty. Now do you see why thieves don’t mind breaking into houses? They don’t get punished severely enough. He had broken into 3 different residences!
Here is another issue….his Court Appointed Atty that taxpayers pay told the Judge he had 6 hours he spent working on the case…..the taxpayers are picking up the tab @ a cost of $60 per hour!!!!! Atty got $360 for saying he had worked 6 hrs on the case…..Yeah right!!!! Gotta love District 9 Court System. $60 an hour only to speak w/ thief 2 times per the thief to the Judge is laughable!!! #CRIMEPAYS……. @ least for Court Appointed Attorneys!! #HIGHWAYROBBERY

I thought the U.S. Constitution gave you a right of a fast & speedy trial….this one Hispanic male had been in Court for the 7th time!! So how do you think your new Dist. Atty is doing? Seems like 2day was very unorganized……but hey….it’s become the norm b/c people won’t get out & vote & get NEW people into these positions & not someone who owes any of the “good ole’ boys” any favors!! $

As I recall, Nash County has a huge heroin problem as well. As does Raleigh, Wake Forest, Louisburg, Oxford and many other cities in the state and in the world. Never said we had the best town but there are some good people there, and if we can all come together as a community it can thrive once again. Then we have YOU….always posting negativity. I agree with Publius….get a hobby, or a job, or better yet….A LIFE.
