Scott Hughes: Sanctions and North Korea

Just when I think that our current Presidential Administration couldn’t get any worse, I’m again proven wrong. The bar set by our previous Presidents has most definitely been lowered by this buffoon. This is one of the many examples of why I pray that this President will be a 1 termer. I just hope that we can all survive these 4 years.

Answering the question “what is Scott talking about this time,” allow me to share my thoughts that are based on facts more so than opinions. I’m writing about sanctions. The definition of “sanction” is a formal and explicit approval or official permission or approval. The “sanctions” that I’m referring to are the hardships that are directly created in one country by another country that doesn’t approve of something taking place. An example is this: The American Government doesn’t like what is happening in North Korea so America uses muscle and intimidation to force other countries on this planet to join forces to make the lives of millions of human beings much more difficult than they are already. If that is even possible for the citizens of Korea.

If President Trump thinks that any sanction against North Korea will make Kim Jong Un do anything that America wishes, he is actually dumber than I thought. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to come to this conclusion. A 5th grade reading level and book is all one would need to figure this out. Sprinkle a little bit of logic and common sense on it and, voila, you have an informed decision that’s based on history and facts. The decision is most certainly to NOT force any sanctions on the Korean People. It will only hurt the innocent inhabitants of that nation. It will most certainly not cause any harm to Kim Jong Un. This you can count on.

I’m not going to take a stand supporting North Korea developing and possessing nuclear weapons. I doubt that anyone would do that. However, I have taken a position that differs from that held by President Trump. I believe, actually I know, that what he wants to do will only harm those people who have suffered enough. That is all sanctions have ever done. They have caused harm to innocent victims. Yes, I used the term “victims” because that is what they will be. They will be victims at the hands of America and I’m not willing to idly stand by and watch this happen again to another country. How much more are we going to take from this cold, distant, careless, and ignorant administration which is led by someone who can’t go one day without showing a high level of immaturity and ignorance which one would only have to read Twitter to see?
