Reporter – Leigh Hester – Terry Garrison was elected the new Chairman of the Vance County Commissioners in a motion presented by Deborah Brown and Tommy Hester. First Baptist Church Bell Ringers Leads Worshop at Duke University Chapel for 38th Consecutive Year
The middle and high school youth handbell group, The Bell Ringers of the First Baptist Church (Henderson), led worship at Duke University Chapel this past Sunday for a 38th consecutive year. Armed Robbery Arrest Hampton Inn
On November 29, 2011 around 1:46 AM officers with the Henderson Police Department responded to the Hampton Inn, 382 Ruin Creek Road, Henderson in reference to an armed robbery that occurred. The suspect displayed a handgun and left with an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency. Upon arrival, officers obtained a description of the suspect. On November 22, 2011 members of the Henderson Police Department Vice/Narcotics Unit conducted a search warrant at 413 N. Clark Street, Henderson in reference to numerous drug complaints from concerned citizens. During the execution of the search warrant one .22 caliber handgun and drug paraphernalia were recovered. Kidnapping Victim OK, Suspect Fled
On November 24, 2011 around 11:38 PM officers with the Henderson Police Department received a call in reference to an armed subject at 128 Pearl Street. Upon arrival, officers learned that a kidnapping of an 18 year-old female had just occurred.
