On October 26, 2012 members of the Henderson Police Department Criminal Investigations Division in conjunction with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation arrested and charged Darius Montreal Benson, 25, of Henderson with first degree murder. Mr. Benson has been charged with the murder of Curtis Morton, 50, that occurred on August 4, 2012 at 338 Hamilton Street. Mr. Benson remains in the Vance County Jail under no bond pending a court hearing on November 5, 2012.

On October 26, 2012 around 11:14 PM officers with the Henderson Police Department responded to Room 114 at the Scottish Inns, 1759 N. Garnett Street, Henderson, NC. Upon arrival to the hotel, officers found EMS performing procedures on Antonio Hammond, 33, of Henderson. RALEIGH – County governments and nonprofit groups pursuing farmland preservation projects can apply for funding assistance from the N.C. On Friday, October 19, 2012, members of the Henderson Police Department and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives arrested Lagarris Alexander Peace, 19, 71 Eagle Lane, Henderson. Peace was charged with one count of trafficking in opium or heroin.
