The Vance County Board of Education has scheduled the following committee meetings in advance of its February 14, 2011 regular monthly meeting: The Finance Committee will me Thursday, February 3, 2011 at 5:30 p.m. and the Personnel Committee will meeting Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at 8:30 a.m. All meeting will be held at the Administrative Services Center, 1724 Graham Avenue in Henderson, North Carolina.
Minor arrested at school for gun possession
Henderson Police Officers responded to Eaton Johnson Middle School located at 500 N. Beckford Drive in Henderson, North Carolina in response to a call reporting a person with a gun.

A third individual has been charged in the previously reported larceny of a television set from Roses Department Store.
