N.C. strawberry growers expect to start the season early this year despite a recent cold snap. The “Vanguard Online Learning through Technology” (VOLT) initiative at Vance-Granville Community College is entering its second year in operation and preparing to add a new program option. Greenhouse vegetables offer early taste of summer
While much of the state was covered in ice this winter, Zack Brewer was wearing shorts and a T-shirt as he transplanted 2,300 young tomato plants into the ground at Sunny Slope Greenhouses in Bear Creek. NCDOT Converts N.C. 98/N.C. 39 Intersection in Bunn to All-Stop
The N.C. Department of Transportation has modified the intersection of N.C. 98/East Jewitt Avenue and N.C. 39/Main Street in Bunn in southeastern Franklin County to a permanent all-way stop. The intersection previously just had stop signs for N.C. 98. The conversion took place after it was determined traffic volumes at the intersection and other factors warranted installing stop signs in both directions on N.C. 39.
