WASHINGTON – U.S. Rep. Bob Etheridge (D-Lillington), the Ranking Member of the Homeland Security Committee’s Subcommittee on Investigations, today called for the committee to hold hearings on the wasteful contracting processes used by the Federal Emergency Management Agency during the Hurricane Katrina recovery.

During the Henderson City Council meeting on Monday evening, while reporting for the Journal Committee, council member Elissa Yount asked Henderson Mayor Clem Seifert to investigate allegations made against the council.

During the committee reports portion of Monday’s Henderson City Council meeting, council member Mary Emma Evans expressed a desire to come back to the council with a proposal to raise the salary of city council members.
