RALEIGH — A section of Pulleytown Road will be closing early Monday, Oct. 20, weather permitting, as part of the Rolesville U.S. 401 Bypass project. The contractor needs to close a small section of the road to build the intersection for the new highway. The contractor has 21 days to install storm drainage and concrete islands, and make pavement and intersection improvements. Farmland Preservation workshops to be held across the state
RALEIGH – The N.C. Agricultural Development and Farmland Preservation Trust Fund will hold six workshops across the state for those interested in protecting local agricultural lands. The ADFP Trust Fund will be collaborating with the state USDA Natural Resource Conservation Service staff to host these workshops. RALEIGH — The arrival of the fall season not only means dropping temperatures and leaves, but also an increase in the chances of a collision with a deer across North Carolina. Eaton-Johnson Middle School Students Chosen for N.C. Honors Chorus
Two students at Eaton-Johnson Middle School have been selected to be a part of the 2014 North Carolina Middle School Honors Chorus. Robert and Jackson Hopper, who are brothers, auditioned with over 1,200 students and were two of only 171 students selected to be a part of the statewide chorus. Students at Dabney Elementary School have been enjoying studying plants and flowers that have been growing in small pots or cups included in the school’s new Hydro-Stacker planting and watering system. Their studies have been led by fifth-grade teacher Susan Hughes, who secured a grant from the N.C. Farm Bureau and the Vance County Farm Bureau in the spring to purchase the Hydro-Stacker.
