School supply donation drive
A School Supply Donation Drive sponsored by the Henderson-Vance Chamber of Commerce and the Vance County United Way Volunteer Center will be held on Friday, August 1 from 7:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. in the front parking lot of Chick-fil-A.

Saint Augustine adult ed. program in Henderson
Saint Augustine College is encouraging everyone to come to their July 30 and 31 information session at Gateway Center in Downtown Henderson. The sessions start at 5:30 p.m., and the goal is to give an overview of the program, answer questions, and then breakout into groups for applications. Red Cross issues urgent call for all blood types
Editor’s Note: The previous date and time given for the blood drive at The Pegram Agency were incorrect. This reprint of the original article that ran on July 14, 2008 gives the correct information. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. While temperatures and fuel prices continue to rise this summer, the American Red Cross reports that the blood inventory levels are so low it is unable to sufficiently meet the demand of local hospitals.
Family & friends day blood drive
There will be a Vance County American Red Cross blood drive on Saturday, July 12, 2008 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at New Life Church located at 3485 Business Hwy. 158 (Old Oxford Rd.). The Family and Friends Day event also includes a health fair, gospel singing and cookout at the same location.
