Geraldo Banaag and his math students at Henderson Middle School have been recognized nationally for their celebration of National Pi Day on March 14. Lisa Wise of Imagine Nation, the organization which organized Pi Day activities in schools across the United States, recognized Banaag and his efforts at HMS. Northern Vance High School students visited on March 22 with students and teachers at E.M. Be Careful When Burning Debris in Spring

The N.C. Forest Service is urging residents across the state to think safety and exercise caution during the spring fire season, which typically lasts from March to May.   “During the spring fire season, people do a lot of yard work that often includes burning leaves and yard debris,” said Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler. “There are many factors to consider before doing any burning.” North Carolinians thinking about burning debris should contact their county ranger for advice first, Troxler said. …

Horse Industry Promotion Referendum

NCDOT Converting Intersection in Franklin County to All-Way Stop on Thursday

The intersection of Williams White Road and Pilot-Riley Road north of Zebulon in Franklin County is being switched to a permanent all-way stop intersection on Thursday, March 2, weather permitting. The current traffic pattern requires vehicles to stop on Williams White Road while traffic on Pilot-Riley Road does not have to stop.
