HPD Arrest Darius Benson for August Murder of Curtis Morton

On October 26, 2012 members of the Henderson Police Department Criminal Investigations Division in conjunction with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation arrested and charged Darius Montreal Benson, 25, of Henderson with first degree murder. Mr. Benson has been charged with the murder of Curtis Morton, 50, that occurred on August 4, 2012 at 338 Hamilton Street.  Mr. Benson remains in the Vance County Jail under no bond pending a court hearing on November 5, 2012.

Vance-Granville Community Band presents concert at Louisburg High

On October 26, 2012 around 11:14 PM officers with the Henderson Police Department responded to Room 114 at the Scottish Inns, 1759 N. Garnett Street, Henderson, NC. Upon arrival to the hotel, officers found EMS performing procedures on Antonio Hammond, 33, of Henderson. Antonio Hammond was transported by EMS to Maria Parham Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
