North Carolina Main Street Communities Receive National Accreditation

RALEIGH – The N.C. Cody Flowers, Boy Struck by Hit and Run in Warren County Has Passed Away

15 year old Cody Flowers of Warren County was struck by a hit and run driver this past weekend, and placed in a medically induced coma at Duke University Hospital. Community Band presents outdoor concert at VGCC Gazebo

The Vance-Granville Community Band performed its fourth annual outdoor Mother’s Day concert on May 13 at the Gazebo on VGCC’s Main Campus. Reward Offered For Info On Abandoned Dog Case

The Humane Society of the United States is offering a $2,500 reward in hopes of gathering information regarding a neglected and abandoned dog. On May 22, officials with the Vance County Animal Services found a female pit bull tied to a pole by a telephone cord. Alex Hargrove, director of Vance Co. Animal Services, says the dog was thin, dehydrated and covered with mange and sores. Durham’s Full Frame’s Film Festival in April Economic Impact Estimates Up

The annual four-day Full Frame Documentary Film Festival that was held in Durham in April brought in $320,000 more for the local economy than it did last year, for a total estimated economic impact of $2.1 million. The U.S. Census Bureau released today results from its post-enumeration survey, providing a measure of the accuracy of the 2010 Census.
