The City of Henderson Fire Department has developed a Citizens Fire Academy to teach citizens about the many jobs HFD does on a daily basis and promote citizen interaction with firefighters. This will be a dynamic, 8 week program designed to provide participants with an inside view of the operations of HFD. Applications for current fifth graders to enroll in the STEM Early High School in Vance County Schools for the 2016-2017 school year are now available from counselors in local elementary schools.
