Public hearing held on budget
One of the first items of business during Monday evening’s council meeting was a public hearing on the fiscal 2006-2007 budget as required by law.
Etheridge urges student loan consolidation
WASHINGTON – U.S. Rep. Bob Etheridge (D-Lillington) today encouraged N.C. students and families to consider consolidating their college loans by July 1, when interest rates are set to rise an average of 2 percent, to their highest rate in years.
House approves $18.9 billion budget
RALEIGH — Members of the State House gave initial approval of their version of the budget on Wednesday afternoon by a vote of 92 to 26 and final approval on Thursday morning, 91 to 23.
Etheridge calls for FEMA contract investigation

Evans wants to raise council pay
