New Round of Rural Grants Will Mean More Than 1,300 New Jobs

The North Carolina Rural Infrastructure Authority (RIA) approved 15 grants or loans on June 18, totaling more than $6 million with the commitment of 1,322 new jobs. Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)/loans approved include: City of Lexington (Davidson County): $750,000 loan to Masterbrand Cabinets to support the reuse of a vacant industrial building located at the Sapona Business Park. The company will invest $8 million in the renovation and new equipment and has committed to creating 38 new jobs. City …

Raleigh- As progress continues on the U.S.401 Rolesville Bypass project, NCDOT contractors have two closures planned, both starting this weekend, weather permitting. On Thursday, June 18, 2015, members of the Henderson Police Department Special Operations Unit executed a search warrant at 419 College Street in Henderson. As a result of the search, officers located a quantity of marijuana.
