Marriage is a man made invention to own and control women, especially the mother of his first born son. Back in the day (Greek, Roman, and old testament days) the man had to know that his first born son was his. To do that his wife had to demonstrate her virginity as proof that the first born (son is preferred) is his.
What other purpose is there for Deuteronomy 22:13-21?

WHAT!!!??? You are out in left field; beyond the foul poles too.
Religious broadcaster Pat Robertson told his “700 Club” viewers that divorcing a spouse with Alzheimer’s is justifiable because the disease is “a kind of death.” (copied directly from a Yahoo News article which is also reported in the NY Times.)
According to Pat Robertson a good Christians can ignore that religious vow made in front of god, to divorce their spouse who has Alzheimer, a disease of the brain. You know the vow that goes something like this: in sickness and in health. Pat Robertson is saying that disease is a reason to allow a man to put a marriage asunder.
A good Christian could argue that a divorce should be granted when your spouse is in a coma and will never recover from it. Or that you should be granted a divorce because your spouse fractured their vertebrae is totally paralyzed unable to talk, see, or comfort you in your needs.
How does this square with the proposed constitutional amendment for marriage? The point of the amendment is that marriage is the foundation of [a christian] society; yet pope Pat Robertson says you need not say married to sick spouse.
Pat Robertson is known for making stupid remarks, especially in recent years.
Maybe HE has Alzheimer’s, and his wife should leave HIM.
