Etheridge votes for Small Business Jobs Act
Washington, D.C. — U.S. Rep. Bob Etheridge (D-Lillington) today voted in support of the Small Business Jobs Act that will create jobs, expand credit, and cut taxes for small businesses. The legislation, H.R. 5297, passed the House by a vote of 237-187.
Special city council meeting on joint funding Sept. 28
Henderson Mayor Pete O’Geary has called a special meeting of the Henderson City Council for the purpose of discussing jointly funded projects of Henderson and Vance County. The meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. in City Council Chambers in City Hall, 134 Rose Avenue in Henderson, North Carolina.

Police Chief disputes statistical relevance of increased complaints At the outset of the meeting, with members Garry Daeke and Brenda Peace-Jenkins not in attendance, City Manager Ray Griffin explained that the special session of the Henderson City Council was called because of a request by local NAACP chapter President Horace Bullock for the council to create a police citizen review board.
To the editor: Opposed to means of firing range block
I am not here tonight to speak in favor of the proposed firing range on Glebe Road (although I am not opposed to it) but rather to protest the manner in which the County is trying to block it.
