Vance-Granville Community College has announced that 306 students earned Dean’s List honors for the fall semester that ended in December 2012. Students in the Advanced Digital Media class at Southern Vance High School have produced a video that is one of 17 finalists in the Fox50 Lip Dub Contest through the Fox50 television station in Raleigh. Student groups produce their own video, which features students singing to a specific track of music. The video also includes signs, props and more. On April 7, 2013 around 1:14 PM officers with the Henderson Police Department responded to the 200 Block of East Rockspring Street, Henderson in reference to a 15 year-old male being shot. Upon arrival, officers found Sandtonio Knott Jr, 15, suffering from a gunshot. EMS transported Mr. Knott to an area hospital for treatment. Mr. Knott is listed in stable condition. The 29th annual Vance-Granville Community College Endowment Fund Golf Tournament will be held at the Henderson Country Club on Tuesday, May 7, 2013.
