RALEIGH – County governments and nonprofit groups pursuing farmland preservation projects can apply for funding assistance from the N.C. On October 20, 2012 around 3:30 PM officer with the Henderson Police Department responded to the area of Thomas Street and Young Ave near the Springwood Apartment Complex in reference to a shooting that had occurred. On Friday, October 19, 2012, members of the Henderson Police Department and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives arrested Lagarris Alexander Peace, 19, 71 Eagle Lane, Henderson. Peace was charged with one count of trafficking in opium or heroin. Peace was placed in the Vance County Jail under a 50,000.00 secured bond pending a preliminary hearing in Vance County District Court on November 5, 2012.
