On Thursday, February 21, 2013, officers of the Henderson Police Department were dispatched to the intersection of Davis Street and Nicholas Street in Henderson in response to gunfire. When officers arrived, they found Ja’Quon Seward, 17, 710 Southerland Street, Henderson suffering from a gunshot wound. Seward was transported to Maria Parham Medical Center. On January 11, 2013 the Henderson Police Department received two additional tips that a crime of violence would be occurring at one of the Vance County Department of Social Services locations.
