The Education Committees of the Vance County Board of Education and the Vance County Board of Commissioners will hold a Joint Meeting on Monday, November 21, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. in the Vance County Schools Administrative Services Center Main Conference Room at 1724 Graham Avenue Henderson, N. C. 27536. The purpose of the meeting is to begin a dialogue between both Boards on the needs of our schools. The Education Committees will continue to meet on a quarterly basis.

Henderson Gives Dabney Study the “Go-Ahead.”
The City Council voted Monday night to approve asking the state DOT to conduct a feasibility study which would examine the possibility of expanding Dabney Drive into two one-way streets, with Corbitt Road and parts of the former railway line forming semi-parallel alternate avenues. The plan would likely create busy thoroughfares on either side of many properties for several blocks north for Parham Street.
