Disaster assistance for NC poulty farmers
Washington, D.C. — U.S. Rep. Bob Etheridge (D-Lillington) today announced that $60 million will be made available by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) to aid poultry farmers in North Carolina and other states.

City council approves multiple contracts
The Henderson City Council approved a flurry of resolutions for contracts and grants for various Henderson projects, including:
Man charged with kidnapping, armed robbery
On September 11, 2010 at approximately 2:44 p.m. officers with the Henderson Police Department responded to Wal-Mart, located at 200 N. Cooper Drive in Henderson, North Carolina in reference to an attempted armed robbery.
School board policy meeting canceled
The Vance County Board of Education’s Policy Committee meeting scheduled for Wednesday, September 15, 2010 has been canceled. No information on a rescheduled date and time was made available.

Henderson city council extends irrigation credit
The Henderson City Council voted unanimously during its regular meeting yesterday to extend the irrigation credit through October of 2010.
HPD review board to be discussed at special session
City Manager Ray Griffin announced during yesterday’s meeting of the Henderson City Council that a special session will be held on September 20, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. to discuss police review boards. It is unknown if public comment will be received at the meeting.
