The rumor that I was admitted to the Duke University Medical Center earlier this week is true. On Monday afternoon I went to the emergency room at Maria Parham Medical Center on the advice of my family doctor, and from there I was shipped to Duke for various cardiac tests. Luckily, those tests all came out negative for a heart attack, heart damage, and coronary artery disease. I was was sent home yesterday with a new prescription that will hopefully …

The Vance County Board of Education is holding an emergency executive session today at 5:30 p.m. in the Administrative Services Center, 1724 Graham Avenue in Henderson, North Carolina.
