Op. Medicine Drop collects nearly 10,000 pills
Safe Kids Henderson-Vance, the Henderson Police Department, the Vance County Sheriff’s Office, and the Five County Area Mental Health Authority announced today that the Operation Medicine Drop prescription drug take-back events held during Poison Prevention Week collected and disposed of 9,887 dosages of unused and expired prescription and over-the-counter drugs from the public.

On March 30, 2010 Phillip Wayne Coley was apprehended in Sharpsburg, North Carolina on six outstanding warrants for obtaining property by false pretenses in relation to a telephone scam asking the elderly for money to assist a stranded family member.
Solid waste removal schedule for Good Friday
The City of Henderson will observe the Good Friday holiday on April 2, 2010. Household trash, recyclables, and yard debris scheduled for pick up on Friday, April 2, 2010 will be collected on Thursday, April 1, 2010.
