County approves Kittrell conference center concept
The Vance County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved the concept of a conference center in Kittrell proposed for constructed on land belonging to the North Carolina Conference of the African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church.

County HR meeting at 5:15 today
Home in Henderson was informed this morning that the Vance County Board of Commissioners’ Human Resource Committee is meeting today at 5:15 p.m. in the office of County Manager Jerry Ayscue. Ayscue’s office is located at 122 Young Street in Henderson, North Carolina. No further information about the meeting was made available.

Safe Kids Henderson-Vance wins two awards

Safe Kids Henderson-Vance, the Henderson Police Department, the Vance County Sheriff’s Office, and the Five County Area Mental Health Authority announced today that the Operation Medicine Drop prescription drug take-back events held during Poison Prevention Week collected and disposed of 9,887 dosages of unused and expired prescription and over-the-counter drugs from the public.
