RALEIGH — A bridge on Old Franklinton Road in Granville County will be closing on Monday, May 14, as work begins on a $630,367 project to replace the structure over Ford Creek, northwest of Franklinton. The 52-year-old bridge is considered structurally deficient and functionally obsolete. It is still safe, but has been requiring maintenance and repair and eventually needed to be replaced. Eaton-Johnson Middle School and Henderson Middle School are in desperate need of test proctors for next week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (May 15-17). The proctors (volunteers) would be needed to monitor students during state end-of-grade testing from 8 a.m. to about 11 a.m. each day. It is that simple – you’d just watch the kids during testing. Kenneth Turner Arrested for Family Dollar Breaking and Entering
On May 5th, 2012 around 1:45AM, Officers of the Henderson Police Department responded to the breaking and entering of Family Dollar located at 112 Raleigh Rd. Through further investigation, Officers were able to locate and arrest Kenneth Jerome Turner, DOB 10-8-1965, later that same day.
