At yesterday’s joint meeting of the City of Henderson’s Finance and Intergovernmental Relations Committee and Vance County’s Intergovernmental Committee, County Manager Jerry Ayscue expressed concern over the City’s proposed Certificate of Occupancy (CO) ordinance.

On Sunday, September 16, 2007 there will be a Candidates’ Forum for all of the candidates who have opposition in the upcoming local municipal election.
Election signs blooming in H-town
This sign was photographed on E. Young Street Hendersonians may have noticed signs inveighing residents to “Vote for A New Direction” springing up along city streets. According to a source close to the election, the signs are being placed by Henderson businessman Cliff Rogers and candidate for the Ward 2 seat Michael Inscoe. It is unknown at this time who is responsible for the conception of the signs and who is paying for their production.
County stands firm on joint funding
Responding to a proposal for a new funding arrangement for joint projects made by Henderson City Manager Jerry Moss at an August 14 City-County meeting, County Manager Jerry Ayscue took the opportunity to reply to some of the points made in Moss’ proposal at the outset of yesterday’s meeting.

Amortization Ordinance amendment passed
Before the beginning of the public hearing on the subject of the ordinance amendments, City Attorney John Zollicoffer explained that under the current ordinance, non-conforming auto repair facilities cannot have a vehicle on their lots for more than 180 days.
