It was announced this morning that President Gerald Ford died yesterday at the age of 93. Although his pardon of President Richard Nixon was controversial, and most likely cost him a term of his own in 1976, he succeeded in holding the country together through the twin traumas of Watergate and the aftermath of the Vietnam War. We mourn his passing.

Plan circulated for partial museum relocation
In a memorandum circulated on Thursday, Tem Blackburn, Curator of the Vance County Historical Museum, unveiled a plan to relocate principal exhibits of the museum to McGregor Hall in the H. Leslie Perry Memorial Library.
