Vance-Granville Community College will offer an Art class focused on Portrait Painting on Wednesdays from 1:45 p.m. until 4:45 p.m., Feb. 5 through April 8. N.C. Museum of Art to remake Raleigh campus
The N.C. Museum of Art has received a $13 million anonymous donation to jump-start plans to remake its 164-acre campus in west Raleigh. The multi-phase plan calls for a new campus entrance and streetscape, more parking, woodland and meadow restoration, additional bike and walking trails and infrastructure, improved sustainability measures, and more outdoor works of art. The first phase of the plan is scheduled to begin next spring.

Young artists showcased at VGCC Child Care Center
The Child Care Center at Vance-Granville Community College’s Main Campus held an Art Show on March 21. Approximately 150 works of art created by 37 artists (who ranged in age from one to five years old) were displayed. The children used a variety of techniques, including finger painting, watercolors, collages and flowers made with hand-prints and foot-prints, as well as marble painting, in which marbles covered in paint are rolled from side to side on paper, and squirt bottle painting. …
