Henderson City Council member Elissa Yount told the Land Planning and Development Committee at their February 15 meeting that the city needs to enforce its codes in the ETJ.

Code Enforcement Director Corey Williams appeared before the Land Planning and Development Committee on February 15 to explain the procedural guidelines regarding abandoned structures.

City Engineer Frank Frazier reported on the state of the Armory to the Land Planning and Development Committee at their meeting last Wednesday.

What follows is the proposed yard sale ordinance:

Land Planning and Development Chair Bobby Gupton distributed copies of the ordinance form of the yard sale regulations at the meeting of his committee on Wednesday afternoon.

The FAIR Committee met on Wednesday, February 15, in the City Hall Conference Room.

The first of the public comments at Monday’s city council meeting was made by former city council candidate and local businesswoman Sara Coffey of Coffey’s Bail Bonds and Private Investigations.

The Henderson City Council ordered the demolition of 747 and 753 Alexander Avenue at Monday evening’s regular meeting. Both properties are owned by Kenneth Stevenson.

Six speakers signed up to speak at Monday evenings Vance County Board of Commissioner’s meeting before the 5:45 p.m. deadline. Since the board allots thirty minutes to public comments, each speaker was given five minutes each for comments.

About 100 Vance County residents, some sporting orange “no Zoning” stickers, showed up at Monday evening’s Vance County Board of Commissioner’s meeting to protest the county-wide zoning project.
